The Details:
On Thursday, February 6, at 7:30 p.m., step into the world of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons at ZACH Theatre’s Jersey Boys—the Tony Award-winning musical that takes you behind the music of one of rock’s most iconic groups. Told from the perspectives of each band member, Jersey Boys chronicles the group’s rise from New Jersey street corners to global superstardom—along with the personal trials that came with it.
It’s the “champagne opening” of the performance, so sip champagne, soak in the electric atmosphere as you listen to hits like Sherry, Big Girls Don’t Cry, and Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, and enjoy a night of Broadway-caliber performances right here in Austin.
Social Stimulus caught up with Cassie Abate, the new Associate Artistic Director at ZACH Theatre:
“This is my first production in my new role … Jersey Boys has always been a dream show … There was an entire year of grade school where I came home every day and did my homework to my The Very Best of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons record …”
What you see isn’t always what you get—whether you’re in 1960s New Jersey or 2025 Austin.
“A major part of the show’s success is the combination of the iconic music that is a beloved part of the collective culture contrasted with the unknown drama that permeated their story.
“The group tried to keep a clean-cut image like their contemporaries, The Beach Boys, by hiding the seedier details happening behind the scenes, including their connections to the mafia that they were never able to fully extricate themselves from.”
“You can draw a direct line to the present day where people use social media to carefully curate a personal narrative and brand.”
What should Austinites take away from Jersey Boys? “The music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons is multi-generational, and my hope is that audiences walk away both moved by the story and feeling like they had a concert experience.”
Who Sang It Better?
Nick Anastasia, who portrays Frank Valli in the Zach Theater’s performance of Jersey Boys, just won a BroadwayWorld Madison award for Best Performer In A Musical for the same role at the Fireside Theater last year.
Here’s Nick’s rendition of Franki Valli and The Four Seasons’, Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You:
Frankie Valli received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 Grammys, honoring his decades-long impact on music. Jersey Boys is a testament to that legacy, bringing his story and timeless songs to life on stage.
