For SXSW 2025, Redbreast Unhidden will bring its whiskey and film showcase to Powder Room, a hidden speakeasy tucked inside Manny’s sandwich shop. Guests will step through a hidden entrance at Manny’s sandwich shop, leading to Powder Room, which Eater Austin describes as “an intimate speakeasy [and] a favorite among Austin’s cocktail enthusiasts, known for its tableside mixology and moody, elegant ambiance.”

Worth Sipping: Bourbon & Banter’s Steve Coomes called Redbreast Whiskey “a true standard bearer for the Irish whiskey category,” and Chris Ellis of The Whisky Study, lauded the company’s “12 Cask Strength as one of the best whiskies currently on the market.” But, if Whiskey isn’t your thing, or you’re just in the mood for something more coconut-y, pineapple-y and tropical (hey, it’s finally warm again Austin!), opt for The Icarus Agenda on Powder Room’s exquisite cocktail menu.

Stay For The Scenery: ‘I wanted to create a space with a bright and fresh appearance that also doubles as a sanctuary from a city that never sleeps,” Peter Bowden, Powder Room’s designer, recently told Culture Map’s Brianna Caleri. “Aside from the prominent plants, the interior design is shaped by some Art Deco prints, mid-century decor, and a desire to create an escape from urbanity.” '

Those are winning design choices—at least according to “the leading international competition dedicated to the design of food and beverage spaces—the Restaurant and Bar Design Awards—which shortlisted Powder Room for its 2024 Restaurant & Bar Design Awards.
